Two 500 watt lights in one outlet?
I bought two 500 watt lighting kits to shoot videos. I think they use 120VAC? I have no idea what that means. Here is the product description: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/308804-REG/Impact_401471_One_Floodlight_Umbrella_Kit.html. I want to know if I will cause an electrical problem by plugging them into a strip and plugging that strip into an extension cord and plugging that cord into one outlet?
Also depends on what size breaker is running that outletroom (or rooms)
You should be fine, as not much current is really being pulled. Perhaps turn 1 on at a time so not to get a surge.
A typical hair dryer is rated at 1500-1800W or so (per the labeling) and this is just about pushing the limit, so you should be fine.
