Fender Mini '57 Twin Guitar Amp Review

Mini amplifiers give you the flexibility of rehearsing wherever you would like, when you want. Whether or not you are in your school dormitory, on the road or simply lounging in your home. The Fender Mini '57 Twin-Amp is a good tiny practice amp and can churn out a pretty good sound if you are realistic about what to expect.

Specifications:

This Fender Mini '57 Twin-Amp has all the basic requirements , encased in a sweet, retro design for those that are always on a tight schedule or who do not have the luxury of playing at concert volume.

  • Power: One-watt
  • 2" x 2" speakers
  • Distortion/Overdrive
  • 9V jack power adapter
  • Headphone jack
  • Tweed outer cover for a pleasant vintage look

Why this amplifier is perfect for you

  • You travel a lot and would really like to bring your guitar and your amp with you and need something light and straightforward to carry.
  • You are just starting out on guitar and need an amp to use within the comforts of your own room.
  • You are a fan of everything vintage from the sound to the looks of this amp.

More positive feedback

This tiny package actually captures the basis of having a practice amp with a stylish casing, to boot. The sound quality for a single watt practice amp is quite good and is perfect to be used within your own room. The power adaptor included in the package is terribly useful since you may fry the circuits of the amp if you plug it in on it's own. At the least you needn't get a separate 9V adaptor for this one.

Consider another type of amplifier if

  • You want more differences in effects (since some practice amp do have a selection of effects built in).
  • You need this to be a substitute CD player (since you don't have a CD jack in this model).
  • You want to practice the particular sound of your playing so that means you need a stronger amplifier to imitate the sound of being on stage.
  • You want a practice amp that can go side by side with the whole band playing with you.

Overall the Fender '57 look killer and sounds excellent for it's price and size. Mini amp andmicro amp reviews will be available at practiceamp.net the best website we've found for reliable guitar amplification reviews and info.

How to wire a twin adapter.?

I bought a twin adaptor and am having problems wiring it.
There are three terminals in a straight line with no markings to indicate which is Live, Neutral and Earth.
The instructions simply say to coonect the wires to these terminals but I don't know which is which.
I hope this makes sence to someone.
Cathorio.

If you are using a 2 way to 3 way adaptor, then you are disabling the earth connection (asumming the adaptor is wired correctly!). The appliance MAY be using the earth connection as a safety feature, so it is unfortunate if you have no choice but to use a 2 way to 3 way adaptor!

Connecting the live to the neutral, or the neutral to the live does not really matter as you have only changed the polarity (its Alternating Current). It should still work!

I don't know if the earth belongs to the appliance you are using, or to the building. Either way I think it is VERY VERY VERY important that you DO NOT accidentally connect the live or the neutral to the earth! Doing so will either make the pipes and radiators around your house "live", or the casing of the appliance "live". There is the risk of ELECTROCUTION if you accidentally do this!

I'm definitely not an expert in this field, but I think I can see some of the dangers! Get the advice of someone standing next to you who genuinely knows what they're doing!

I'm sorry but without more information I can't really help! STAY SAFE!
